One thing that sets us apart from other communities is our rich sense of history and Southern culture. Eva’s is located in the heart of Main Street in a building owned originally by Thomas Hinson. His wife Eva became a culinary star. If you are looking for the best South in your mouth, Eva’s is it. The traditional recipes are all her own, and although they’re most famous for breakfast, their lunch is pretty fantastic too! In true Summerville style, they keep it local when possible, using growers and fisheries from the area.
Halls Chophouse
Located in upscale Nexton Square is Halls Chophouse. Halls is dedicated to fine dining, with mostly top-shelf bar choices and a menu that includes the best chops in the South. Set in a homey house, Five Loaves Cafe delivers the best sandwiches, salads, and daily specials in Summerville. Shuckin’ Shack Oyster Bar
What the Summerville area does better than anywhere else is, well, shucks! Shuckin’ Shack Oyster Bar is where you can enjoy the freshest oysters in South Carolina. Their menu isn’t limited to oysters, but if you go there, you have to try them. Other favorites? They have the best Sharkbite Shrimp and Cold Crab Dip anywhere. Originating in Charleston, Frothy Beard recently entered the Summerville scene with a splash. Although it’s a simple concept, with excellent brewed beer, amazing food, and a casual and fun atmosphere, they do it incredibly well!
Laura Italian Restaurant
Laura is also located on Main Street. It is an old-world Italian restaurant that has the most amazing tastes and rustic fare. From antipasti to insulata, there is something on the menu for everyone. It has a great vibe, amazingly consistent excellence, and the very best and freshest ingredients possible. Every day is a good day for pizza at Laura! They also have outdoor dining on a lovely patio that you can enjoy pretty much year around. Although it’s only been in Summerville a little over two months, it is sure to be a tradition soon!
